The Zebra barcode printer is not something that is new anymore. However, the Zebra label printer has really only been around since they first began using barcode scanners back in the early 1970s. The very first time an item was scanned at a retail checkout using the barcode scanner was on June 26th, 1974. It was used to scan a pack of Juicy Fruit gum at Marsh’s supermarket in Troy, Ohio. Since then the Zebra label printer has been used to print out the labels that they use for barcodes. Zebra label printers are used all the time now. Since the development and implementation of UPC codes, billions of dollars have been saved and new industries have been developed, such as those that are now being used for advertising and promoting goods.

All kinds of new technologies have become available now, such as the voice picking software that they are using now in the warehousing industry that are increasing productivity. The Zebra label printer also is being put to use by the warehousing industry. Zebra printers, such as the Zebra thermal printer, are now widely available. Data collection and information for food and beverages are also made easier because of the Zebra label printer. Zebra label printers have been very beneficial in the transportation industries for consumer goods, which is a $60 billion dollar industry in the United States today.
