” A computer network is therefore, a group of interconnected computers. With the internet of things, the list of computers connected in your household or at work, may be significant. All these devices in the same general area are known as a local are network or LAN. This LAN is connected to the entire internet thanks to a wall socket that was installed by your service provider. This socket is connected to the router which routs all your computers through that socket. This socket connects local areas to wide area networks or WANs. An example of a WAN is the internet as a whole. Businesses may also have their own private WANs. Without such connections, sharing information and communication would be much less seamless.
